Right from the start: Having political themes or stories IS NOT THE FUCKING SAME as "being political". FFS, this is why leftoids are stupid.
I think every man who takes pleasure in sticking his glans into another man's excrement passage looks for anything he can hold onto to try to bring normality to it, and one of his main techniques is to take a normal man to the land of bizarreness. And doing so with this film is yet another desperate attempt on their unhappy lives.
It looks like this video is dubbed.
7:17 for a moment I thought that was Rory Williams xD
very good video
The 12th Doctors final story World Enough and Time is the only modern episode that really nailed The Cybermen, writer Steven Moffat couldn't have done a better job with this story, he showed viewers the absolute horror that the Mondasians went through at the genesis of the Cybermen, the incomplete Cybermen spent well over 10 years screaming in pain, begging for somebody to kill them due to the horrible agony and horror of what had happened to them, they eventually did find a cure for the pain by removing all their emotions but right at the end, we discover that people are brought to that conversion room without knowing why... it really is horrifying to discover that the patients didn't willingly volunteer and spent over a decade in absolute torture against their will... THAT is a Cyberman story, body horror and desperation.
I like that it's the Mondas ones again but I wish they'd go more into their goals and structures. They have leaders, I want to know about their culture. Yet, they seem to keep being generic Master henchmen right now. They should be able to stand on their own. I want an episode to be about Mondas and re-establish what and where they're from and how they suddenly are able to time travel.
The critique of automation is stupid. Everything dull garbage job should be automated so that humans can spend less time working and more time living...
Real fans can watcha terrible season and still be a fan, because writers and actors can be replaced, and it can become better again... And you can rewatch the previous seasons over and over again.
But the doctor 'likes a nice shop'.
in the bathroom scene he is so disgusted by that a man kissed him so he even washed his hands with his gloves on, just so he can get it away someho. look at his face when he washes his hands, he looks like he wants to hang himself.
Capitalism is Nazism in a fancy suit and tie. Stop defending the indefensible.
Well, they do have a cameo in Carnival of Monsters, but aren't onscreen enough to really count. A shame really. The Third Doctor going up against Cybermen with UNIT could have been interesting.
absolutely hilarious. tight editing, good jokes, fantastic
Cybermen were created way before downloading and uploading were ever thought of and the understanding of how they work was lost, from Silver Nemesis arrows and coins onwards.
I watched it at least 7 times and never tought it's abt capitalism or fitting in. It is not a critique of modern life. The Narrator doesn't have anyone, lives a loveless life, pushed his limits to the end, and needs to satisfie himself by making up Tyler. Tyler is an anarchist, blames societity for all of his problems and starts an extreme cult to rise against the status qou, while the Narrator's life never improves. He wants to DO something, but not like Tyler. That's why when he beats himself up and screams with Marla on the street, while pushing back taxies, that's an indication that he changed and ready to live a purpusful life. I never saw anything slightly gay in this movie, but it can be interpreted by anyone from any POV
New ones look like a dodgy suit of armour tom bakers cybermen were the best
with everything that is shite about chibnall who, in my honest opinion i th ink graham is the companionest companion to ever companion and deserved better.
luv me toys, 'ate bedtimes. simple as.
Chimes of Midnight and Natural History of Fear are in my top ten of all time stories. Charlotte Pollard edges out Donna Noble for my favorite companion. I have noticed that season after season, I kinda only expect to like three or four episodes, even then there's like only a couple each season that I go back to and rewatch. Now that Disney money is in the mix, I am excited that Doctor Who has a good shot at lasting until the end of humanity, but also will they eventually just own all of my joy?
You can't fix Cybermen, you upgrade! haha
I don't think Ashad is bad *because* he has emotion. It's interesting to see them go there like the Cult of Skaro having autonomy and imagination, it's just where the story leads that matters.
Cyber men are just organized metel zombies
Nah, I don't agree with you at all, the people should just be greatful.
Spare Parts is the best Cyberman story. It just is.
You fuckers ain't giving up till the ABC Mafia turns everything gay. God I miss the 1990's... Don't ask, don't tell...
I will agree these films are horrible. It does upset me me though to see another person from the welfare state that is the U.K. bagging on a philosophy that extols individualism, taking responsibility for yourself and not allowing government to become so big it can take away your freedoms on a whim. Sadly the U.S. is not far behind thanks to the massive mental dissonance between the right and the left.
how dare u hate cyberwoman.. if she has 1 fan etc
Tennant is a sexy beast I will agree
i'm surprised the 90% hadn't revolted already, maybe they have other ways to earn living
I didn’t need to get called out like that but enjoy the new subscriber 🤣
Mate, wait until he sees the next season
They have the worst vulnerability....GOLD.....seriously....GOLD.....also they remind me of Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Really a spot on take on how the Cyberman should be utilised and what makes them so unique, however you better not have implied that the daleks weren't a suitable fit for Manhattan/Evolution at 16:44 otherwise I will need to throw hands with you.
Christmas episodes in the RTD era were never meant to be plot pivitol. They were just silly festive romps. We saw this sort of return in the current era.
I watched series 10 on broadcast and i agree that it is one of the best seasons of the new era, even now with RTDs new season
I think the fundamental issue with writing the Daleks and the Cybermen is they only have one motivation and one personality between all of them. The Daleks wants to kill everything and the cybermen want to convert everything. How much writing potential is there with villains who do the same thing every time and have no individual personalities? To write them differently than that means they are less themselves and to write them like that means the stories are going to be largely the same story over and over again.
Basic Economics - Thomas Sowell
Henry Hazlitt’s Economics in One Lesson
<<There is no one person in the whole world that can make a pencil all by himself>> Leonard Read’s I, Pencil.
The review embodies The Fatal Conceit - Friedrich Hayek, The Vision of the Anointed - Thomas Sowell and the impossibility of price calculation (Mises). If collectivists understood economics and had any ethics they would not be collectivists.
3:07 no the problem is that the people calling themselves liberal are anything but
Capitalism isnt great though, wokeness aside. It just isnt
I remember the Cybermen from watching "Tomb Of The Cybermen" when I was a kid. Bearing in mind I'd be 7 and I'm now 61 that tells you how scary it was. The only Cybermen story to come close to it has been "The World Enough And Time" which, along with "Heaven Sent" will, I believe, come to be regarded as classic episodes of the modern era
Good cybermen are like good zombies. Bad cybermen are like bad zombies.
Mid 2024 doesn't matter Dr Who itself is very wrong. RIP Dr Who
